Albuquerque, NM

Well I must have been half asleep when I did my last post. The real name of the campground is on the sign in the picture above. If I don't type it then I won't get it wrong again. It is very nice and the people that we have met are very friendly. But, you know what, that is what makes RVing and camping so special. We meet a lot of friendly people everywhere. Most have stories to share and usually are worth listening to.
Our day started out as planned but quickly fell apart. We had an appointment (made 2 days ago) to take the MH to Camping World and have the oil & filters changed on the generator and the MH. We arrived early at 945 and the service writer said it would take about 2 hours. No problem, we will go shopping for more things to put in the RV since I removed a lot of things before we left home. Now we have extra space! (Yea, right)

After shopping we looked at all the campers and motor-homes that they had for sell. Wow! 2 hours went by okay - so we were walking thru the parking lot and there sat our motor home, right where we left it. Great! They must be done and forgot to call us.

We checked and found out that they hadn't even started on it yet. Trying to not get upset, I wanted to know why I bothered to get an appointment if they are just going to get to it when they wanted to. The service writer told me that it was not an appointment but a "drop off" time. Wrong answer! After a few more comments he decided to check on the MH. When he came back he said they just pulled it in and it will be done in 2 more hours. I had the service manager take me to the shop so I could see for myself. Yep! It was there and he said they were already working on it and it will be done as quickly as possible.

2 more hours past and here comes the service writer. Bad news! They found out that they didn't have a filter for it and sent someone out to get one. He must have went to lunch, too, because it took 90 minutes. The service writer was very apologetic but 2 more hours was not going to be easy to forgive. Good news is that they did everything they could while waiting on the filter and finished the whole 1 hour job in 4.5 hours. Now that is productive and orderly. We told him we should have ordered a pizza and charge it to them for lunch. He agreed and then decided to give me 12% off the bill. Just in case you're interested - lube the chassis, oil & filter change on MH engine and also the generator = $329.00 That's a little different than a car or truck, isn't it?

Okay, I must admit, we needed some kind of reward for our enduring patience. Route 66 Casino is just 9 miles west. Let's go! We either had a very late lunch or early dinner at the Casino. After we ate, we hit the slot machines. Bad luck was still riding high so we decided it was time for the hot tub and the pool. The hot tub was hot and the pool was cold. I did them both.
Sharon did both too but hers was the hot tub and the laundry. Sharon always tells me "A womans work is never done!" Of course, I do understand.

This is one of the campers I saw in the campground. It was so shiny that I thought it was chrome plated. Our MH has been washed 2 times on this trip and it is still dirty. Someone must polish this camper every hour. It was spotless and gorgeous, too.

Here's another shiny camper and it must have been a brother to the other one because it was very shiny too. That's a '56 Ford sedan in front of it. If you can make out a car in between the camper and yellow truck - that is a '47 Hudson. They had a big dog so I wasn't going to get too close.
Sharon took this picture in front of the Casino. Now that is a fine looking golf cart.

The aisle inside the Casino looks like the highway with a US66 route sign at the intersection. After Sharon took this picture she was informed that you are not allowed to take pictures inside the Casino. Okay! Where's the slot machines?

Valet parking area - love that picture!

That's our MH in the foreground. We also parked where no one else wants to park. It makes it easier to get out later. Usually you will find that others like your idea and they park there, too.

Well, it's been a fun day and Sharon is already taking a nap on the sofa. I'll have to wake her up so she can go back to sleep. (in bed).
Tomorrow we will be leaving for Arizona but tonight will be for restful sleeping..........
Goodnight.
